Project Overview

In 2022, a top-tier battery manufacturer needed to scale pouch-cell production. The stacking station required fast, repeatable pick-and-place motion with compact actuators and reliable pneumatic clamping.

Implementation

We supplied belt-driven linear modules for long-travel transfer and ball-screw modules for short, high-precision stacking motions. Electric cylinders provided programmable clamping force, while compact pneumatic grippers handled electrode insertion.

Results

• Cycle time reduced to 0.8 s per cell
• Stacking accuracy ±0.03 mm over 400 mm travel
• Increased line throughput by 22%
